The journey of Derwent Painting Services began when Mark Morgan started painting in 2006. His passion stayed with him as he went to college, and started working hands on, at the age of 16. In his third year, he was promoted to the position of assistant manager to a nationwide contractor who carried out painting and repair work to Railway stations, hotels and various other Commercial projects.
In 2009, he was made redundant, but his passion for his work and his commitment to creating his own business drove him towards entrepreneurship. Three years of apprenticeship had equipped him with the skills to become a top-grade professional. He went to the Princes Trust in Derby, completed his course there, and got his funding to start Derwent Painting Services.
And in these few years, Derwent Painting Services has built on its core strengths to become one of the most sought-after painting service providers. We work only using the finest brands. We regularly use Dulux and Johnstone’s, and our technology is world class as well, with Festool and Mirka dustless sanding machines helping us achieve ultra-high levels of efficiency.
Time, of course, is one of the biggest concerns for clients. Because of the training and experience we have had, and with all the regular work we do, we have refined our skills to a point where we can complete projects in unmatchable time. Mark and Del recently came to paint the woodwork in a number of rooms in my house, that being skirting boards, doors , doorframes and stairs. They did a great job, very professional and to a very high standard so will be having them back in December to do some more for me. They are great to have in the house too, very chatty and super easy to get on with, also clean up after themselves if any mess is made( just a tip though, have plenty of tea bags in !).All in all I would highly recommend as you can be sure of a good job done with competitive prices. We've used Mark multiple times and have always been very happy. This was quite a big, complicated job, with high walls over the stairs, lots of wallpaper to be stripped and walls prepped, and we also had the banister sanded and sprayed. We love the end result and Mark was very clean, considerate, diligent and friendly the whole time. Very competitive price for the amount of work done. We'd highly recommend!

We had had the same decorators for years but then they retired. We tried another recommendation but were disappointed with the results so we were looking for a quality decorator and are pleased we have found one.We picked Derwent Painting Services from Trusted Trader. I was impressed from the outset - I filled in an enquiry on the website and Mark got back to me the same evening. They are busy, which might mean you have to wait. But it’s definitely worth any wait - skilled people are busy because they are in demand. Mark gave us a timeframe and worked within that.We are very pleased with his work. He has painted a challenging room with beams. His preparation was thorough - there was a lot to do for a variety of reasons and he was very methodical about it. It’s a really professional, high quality finish and we have already got him booked in for further jobs.

The team painted our holiday apartments in Ashbourne. It was a big job and difficult, because of the age of the building and the poor quality of the surfaces, which needed a lot of repairs before they could be painted. Derwent Decorators did an excellent job, were very tidy, on time and on budget.

This is the first time we Have used Derwent Painting Services. The hall stairs and landing were redecorated including all woodwork. We had very good advice on paint products from Mark. Using his sanding equipment meant there was very little dust raised during this job. He carried out the work very efficiently and tidily and we are very happy with the results. We will ask him back to do more redecorating in the future.
